I don’t want to jump the gun, but I feel like I could be doing something to for now to start gaining some insight on it. So many people are in it not doing anything. I’m just kind of apprehensive about rushing right out to Real Estate school. Any suggestions out there for a man like myself who’s looking to learn a little?
I am interested in learning about Real Estate but should I wait until the market picks back up?

It is always a good time to get an education. That does not necessarily mean that it will be a career you will enjoy…but you will not know until you try.
I think it’s a great time to start! Take the classes- they will be much smaller than they were during the boom, and most of the students will be more serious-you will get a better education. I’d keep you current job for the time being, but go ahead and sign up with a brokerage (go with one that does not charge fees, but splits commissions) Your current job will be a great source for leads so you can ease into it without being wholly dependent on th new job for income.
In the future you may not be able to do anything, there is no time like the present.
Take some classes and see if you like it. Even after you take all your classes and the state exam you will need some actual hands on training from a real estate office and broker. I would say go for it. By the time the market turns around you will be licensed and trained and ready for business
The RE course is fairly inexpensive to take, so go for it. Maybe by the time you get it done, the market will improve.
Yes, I’m an optimist.
You will learn more during a tough real estate market and when it turns around you will already have listings and have made a name for yourself.
Why would you want to wait to take classes until everyone is busy making money!
